Vanessa Ferrari selected in the very last minute
After last preparations, the national technical director of the Italian team, Fulvio Vailati, has finally decided to include Vanessa Ferrari in the team; she will compete on all apparatus.
The women’s Italian team was in the training centre of the Italian Federation in Milan. The important question was if Vanessa Ferrari, title holder of the individual title would be well enough after her injury (Achilles tendon) to defend her chances at the European Championships beginning on Thursday. She was not well enough to participate in the last preparing competitions. The two days in the training centre showed that she can compete on all four apparatus at this European event. She will replace young Serena Licchetta, slightly injured.
